16-year-old sexual abuse victim not with Abiodun’s wife –Aide

An aide to Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State governor, Kemi Oyeleye, has denied that the alleged sexually harassed 16-year-old girl, Barakat Melojuekun, is in the custody of the governor’s wife.

There had been reports that the governor’s wife had taken the girl into custody after her matter became public.

This is just as the state police command on Monday said it would submit the report of its investigation on the allegation levelled against the Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, to the Department of Public Prosecutions.

Melojuekun had accused the commissioner of sexually harassing her in his private residence.
The commissioner was subsequently suspended by the state government pending the outcome of police investigation.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who refused to divulge the content of the report, said on Monday that the police would submit it to the DPP.

Oyeyemi said, “We have completed our investigation, the report and case file is ready. We want to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advicet.”

Meanwhile, Oyeleye said there was no truth about the report that the 16-year0old girl was in Abiodun’s custody .

Oyeleye said “She did not know her and did not even interfere in the matter at all. She does not know anything about the girl.”
