Following what is being currently circulated on social media ahead of the upcoming 2023 gubernatorial poll in Enugu, Indigenes of the state, resident in Anambra have bared their minds on the type of leader they would want to succeed Governor Ugwuanyi.
According to Rev. Dr Idoko, the Association’s President, the present administration has been magnificent in delivering the dividends of democracy to Ndi Enugu. As such, he maintained that anybody that will succeed Governor Ugwuanyi must be a person of proven integrity and sufficient knowledge of the political problems facing the State. Rev Dr. Idoko, was adamant that being prudent and accountable should be the basic qualities to look out for in the would be governor of Enugu State.
On his own submission, Ven. E. I. Onovo, the Father founder and Spiritual Director of the Association, lauded the Ugwuanyi led administration for initiating many projects and massive employment in the state which he said have gone a long way in reducing crime and hardship in the state.
The Vice President of the Association, Honourable Felix Okechukwu, said he will support continuity. According to him, his choice would be the man who is ready to continue the good work that Enugu residents are presently enjoying.
The great debate on who succeeds Governor Ugwuanyi has just begun and the Association of Enugu State Indigenes in Anambra is leading the discussion.
