Anambra election: Saraki congratulates Soludo, says Nigeria’s democracy has won

Former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday congratulated a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Soludo, on winning the 2021 Anambra governorship election.

This was made known by the Head of Saraki’s Media Office, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in a statement titled, ‘Saraki Lauds Nigerians, INEC on Success of Anambra Polls’.

UGAMATV had reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday declared Soludo the winner of the election which was held on November 6.

In his congratulatory to Soludo, Saraki stated that the election results showed that Nigeria’s democracy has won.

“While I congratulate the winner of the elections, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, I believe that it is Nigeria and her democracy that won from the results and the conduct of the Anambra State polls,” the statement quoted Saraki as saying.

He continued, “Once again, we have shown that our country can pull back from the brink and refrain from descending into the abyss. I enjoin the government and opinion leaders in the South-East to build on the discussions that led to the peace that reigned in the Anambra State during the elections so that we can have full return of peace across the South-east region. Once again, congratulations to Nigeria and Nigerians.”
