Arrest those soliciting funds on IPOB’s behalf – Spokesman

THE Indigenous People of Biafra has warned politicians to be wary of unscrupulous elements, who approach them to solicit financial assistance on its behalf.

Explaining that it (IPOB) is not known for such fraudulent tendency, the outlawed pro-Biafra group said it had members scattered all over 100 countries across the globe and urged politicians to arrest those engaging in such acts, no matter how highly placed in society.

Warning those perpetrating such acts to cease from doing so, the secessionist group hinted that it had set up a taskforce to monitor such ugly trend.

The group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, stated this in a statement on Sunday.

“IPOB under the able leadership of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, did not send anybody on such shameful errand. We don’t solicit financial support from politicians; we have nothing to do with Nigerian politicians. We don’t need their money!

“We, therefore, seriously warn anybody swindling unsuspecting or greedy politicians in the name of IPOB to immediately disembark from such scandalous mission or brace up for the dire consequences.

“If we catch anybody, no matter who such a person is, fronting as IPOB agent before any Nigerian politician, such a person will live in regrets the rest of his or her life if the one is lucky to escape the wrath of God,” the statement partly read.
