After a 10-year wait for a domestic league title, Glasgow Rangers were crowned champions of the Scottish Premier League with two Super Eagles players having a hand in the team’s success.
Nigerian duo Leon Balogu and Joe Aribo emerged Scottish League champions with Glasgow Rangers for the first time in 10 years after Celtic drew 0-0 with Dundee United on Sunday.
It is the duo’s first major honours at club level.
Steven Gerrard’s side, who beat St Mirren 3-0 on Saturday, have a 20-point lead with six games remaining. Aribo played the entire duration of the game while Balogun featured for 32 minutes after replacing Filip Helander in the 58th minute.
Aribo is one of Gerrard’s most trusted men, with the midfielder contributing six goals and four assists in 24 league appearances for the Gers.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored his second consecutive league goal for Leicester City in their 2-1 comeback win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League on Saturday. The Nigerian coolly converted from a pass from Youri Tielemans to equalise for the Foxes. Midfielder Hamza Choudhury came on for the in-form Nigerian in the 90th minute. His compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi, featured for the entire duration of the encounter.
The goal was Iheanacho’s third of the season in 15 league appearances and his seventh for Leicester City across all competitions.
The quartet of Ola Aina, Josh Maja, Tosin Adarabioyo and Ademola Lookman were in the starting line-up for Fulham, who increased their chances of surviving the drop with a shock 1-0 win over champions Liverpool, who suffered their sixth straight home loss of the season, their worst winless home record in the club’s history.

The Eagles shot stopper returned to action after being left on the bench by manager Gavin Hunt in their last four games.
