EKWEREMADU, WIFE CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS WITH WIDOWS

A Former Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu and Wife, Dr. Nwanneka Ekweremadu had on Thursday 24th December 2020 hosted the Widows of Enugu west in their Enugu residence with an intent of giving them a memorable Christmas celebration.

They had distributed bags of Rice, Wrappers and wads of Cash to the Widows.

Our Correspondents gathered that this has become an annual program dedicated to the feeding and clothing of the Widows to ensure a happy and ecstatic Christmas celebration.

The Senator who currently represents Enugu west senatorial district in the Senate summoned Sixty Widows from Awgu, Aninri, Oji river, Udi and Ezeagu local government Areas which makes up his senatorial district, summing up to three hundred widows.

Speaking in the Celebratory event, Dr. Nwanneka Ekweremadu appreciated the Widows for honouring her invitation, stating that this has become an Annual event since she has made it a mandate to Celebrate her Christmas with the Widows and the less privileged. This she said gives her the assurance that others are celebrating while she celebrates. “Our presents Might not be too much but it is from a pure heart, Do accept it wholeheartedly, I wish us all a merry and blissful Christmas.”

The Deputy Minority leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu, who was present at the event reiterated that this event is solely for giving back to the Widows, the gifts come from a pure heart and as such be received with Joy. Adding his own token, he wished the Widows a Merry Christmas.

Ekweremadu while addressing his guests, Said, “it has come to my attention that several widows are abandoned by friends and family immediately after the Burial of their late husbands. My wife and I, however, have decided to stick by these ones. We are dedicated to bring beautiful memories to them especially during this Festive seasons, we urge you to accept our gifts as it is coming from the deepest parts of our heart, Merry Christmas to you all.”

Filled with immense gratitude, the Widows expressed their appreciation with heartfelt prayers of Protection, blessings and Growth to their benefactor.
