NIGERIAN PILGRIMS  PRAYS FOR INSECURITY AT MOUNT NEBO IN JORDAN

Nigerian pilgrims in Jordan have converged on Mount Nebo to pray for God’s intervention in Nigeria’s security challenges.

The congress prayer was the first of its kind to be held by the Nigerian pilgrims drawn from Plateau, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Bauchi and Gombe states.

In a statement issued in Amman, Jordan, by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Mr. Celestine Toruka, and made available to DAILY POST on Friday, the prayers on Mount Nebo are focused on restoration of peace in Nigeria

The statement said: “The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev.Dr. Yakubu Pam at the Congress prayer expressed his profound gratitude to the Jordanian authority”.

Pam said pilgrims from Nigeria would forever appreciate the Jordanian government for the reception accorded them.

“We have discovered quite a number of Holy Sites in Jordan and would take the good news back home for a sustained relationship with Jordan,” it said.

According to Pam, the Nigerian government would leverage on the relationship with Jordan in the area of agriculture, tourism and ICT for the benefit of youth.

The Chief Executive of NCPC later created four think tank groups from amongst the pilgrims to provide advisory services and policy direction in the area of agriculture, tourism, ICT, policy formulation and spirituality.

He expressed optimism that peace will be restored in Nigeria, noting that they will not relent in prayers and in preaching peace.
