Ohanaeze spokesman seeks four-week postponement of election

Barely five days to the conduct of Ohanaeze Ndigbo National elections, the outgoing deputy National Publicity Secretary of the organisation, Chief Chuks Ibegbu, has called for a shift of the polls by three to four weeks.

Ibegbu, who spoke while declaring interest in the position of the secretary general of the Igbo apex socio-cultural organisation on Monday, said the call for the shifting of polls was necessary to enable for proper planning.

He said, “I suggest this election in Ohanaeze Ndigbo have a three or four weeks shift for proper planning, else there will be confusion and a lot of disaster.”

Ohanaeze spokesman enjoined the delegates to the elections to shun money and vote for him to rejig the national secretariat of Ohanaeze, adding that he would make Ndigbo proud if elected.
