FORMER FCT COMMISSIONER EKWE MOURNS, BURIES WIFE AMIDST TEARS

The former Fct commissioner for Public Complaints Commission and former Aniri Local Government chairman, Hon. Prince Chidi Ekwe on Saturday the 20th of November buried his wife Late Princess Charity Chinyere Ekwe (Oshirioha), at his home town, Obeagu Oduma, Aninri LGA in Enugu State.

Princess Charity Chinyere Ekwe who was a mother of three gave up the ghost on the 22nd of September, four days after delivering her baby pre-term at the young age of 37 at St. Patrick’s hospital Enugu.

Her burial which was held at her home town saw the attendance of several dignitaries and politicians including Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Hon. Toby Okechukwu, Hon. Amadi Oguerinwa and several others as they came to mourn with Ekwe as he bid his wife farewell.

In a painful heart shattering message to his late wife, Prince Ekwe stated how devastated and shocked he and every other family member were at her untimely departure.

Stating the events and days that led to her death, Ekwe said, “that fateful morning you drove yourself to the hospital for your usual medical checkup, I later joined you at the hospital and the doctors attended to you. After series of medical examinations, they suggested that you will be admitted into the hospital to enable them monitor your developing health challenges.

“For the eight days you spent at the hospital before you surrendered gallantly to the cold hands of death I was right beside you. Your sudden departure has left our children and I devastated and I keep asking why death would choose to snatch you away from us at a time we needed you most”, Ekwe said.

Revealing that he lived twenty one years with his wife, he said “your death has made me realize the brevity of life. I lived with you as your husband for 21 years and in all these period you were my pillar of support, my friend, sister and companion.

“Since you are the best of roses in the garden and it pleased God to call you home this early, I am sure you are with the Lord praising the almighty whom you served with all your heart. Your soul and the love you shared to all those who had contact with you when you were alive will never die”, he said concluding
